Cheapest Airline Tickets - Cheap Flights

Kheri Chawla asked:

Among many American tourists destinations like Florida and Caribbean are the most sought after during winter times to catch fun in the sun-filled beaches and during summer vacations Europe is the preferred choice for many. To find cheap airfares to any city or destinations has become much easier now. The Internet provides now numerous resources in finding cheapest airline tickets, cruises, hotels, vacations, and rental cars.

There are a few things to keep in mind while searching for cheap flights that may save you a good amount of money.

Buying in advance is one option and looking for last minute deals has its own charm but that cheap fares may or may not be available at times.

The best time to buy airline tickets is just after midnight on Tuesdays or midnight to 1a.m Wednesday morning. This is because the airlines keep juggling with the prices based on the seats sold and unsold on particular date or flights. Monitoring of day-to-day air bookings is their prime function. Each airline has their own fare algorithm to fix the air ticket prices.

Another options are to sign up with your favorite airlines for email alerts or newsletters so you are always update on latest travel deals.

As the price of airline tickets keeps going up and up due rise in fuel cost, may airlines are hard pressed but at the same time no one wants to go seats empty and loss of revenue. As such they keep offering cheapest airline tickets. More so, all low-fare carriers who are now setting the bar for cheap tickets and traditional airlines often have to match low prices.

Buying cheapest airline tickets from consolidators is another option as they buy airline tickets in bulk and sell them at a discounted rate to help airlines fill seats up. You can find ticket consolidators in your newspaper’s travel section or online. Using a consolidator travel ticket, one can save between 10 and 70% or more off the airlines’ published retail airfares.

Travel Tips to Find Cheap Airline Tickets by Online Flight Booking Sites

Martin Vait asked:

Online flight sites allow you compare flight ticket prices of various carriers in all sections. If you have a clear game plan, you can reduce the amount you spend on air tickets by as much as 60% or even 80%. Constant research and flexibility in travel plans are the key to getting these huge discounts, which leave big money in your pocket. Consider these five tips to save $100 to $10,000 in a year.

1. Book Early

Booking at least two months in advance can give big discounts. The airline companies are looking to fill up their seats fast. When you book early, before others finalize their travel plans, you can get ultra cheap tickets. This is especially true about budget airlines, which have one or two tickets available on dirt-cheap rates. Try to find them to save some serious money.

2. Book Last Minute

This tip is for persons who can alter travel plans at the notice of a minute. There are last minute cancellations in all airlines. The planes often fly with those seats empty. Such seats are usually available on sale, but only on the last minute. If you are prepared for a trip, the last minute bargains give you great discounts, often surpassing the early-bird benefits. However, you can’t count on such bargains for any specific flight, day, or even week.

3. Make Use of Frequent Flyer Miles

Credit card companies, airline companies, and travel agents have different schemes in this direction. Depending on your travel patterns, identify one plan that will work best for you. Then redeem the flyer miles for free tickets before they expire.

4. Subscribe to Air Ticket Alerts

If you fly frequently, it is a good idea to subscribe to the advertisement newsletters from different airlines, travel agents, etc. In most cases, they will send you great deals as and when they are available. If your favourite website does not send out such mails, make sure you check the site at least once a week.

5. Be Flexible With Your Travel Plans

It will be easier to get discount flight tickets if you are flexible with your travel dates and arrangements. This is not usually possible if you are on a business trip, as the schedules can’t be toyed with. However, for the pleasure travelers, this is quite possible.

A good understanding of how the airline companies, travel agents, etc work can give you big savings. Add to that a bit of adventure and flexibility. Then you will be traveling for a fraction of what others spend.

Getting off an airline flight before the final destination?

Shocked_Mom asked:

We sometimes fly to Cincinnati on Delta. Going nonstop is always expensive for our family. I’ve noticed that sometimes a flight will stop in Cincinnati (the hub) on it’s way to say Dayton where the flight to Dayton (from) San Francisco is much cheaper than the flight to Cincinnati. What would happen if we got off in Cincinnati (our destination) and didn’t take the connecting flight?

Frontier airline ticket, need refund/change itinerary for cheap?

noercarr asked:

I purchased a domestic round trip ticket from Frontier, with the optional travel guard insurance. I just got called away on business for work, and cant make my flight. I will probably have my company fly me to my destination and purchase a one way ticket back home(must be from Frontier, other reasons). Is there any way I can get out of paying the $100 change ticket fee, I mean I bought the ticket like 4 days ago, and the flights not for over a month. Thanks!
