Cheap airlines are (and will continue) destroying the quality service of classic airlines. Do you agree?

My point is as follows: the market *********** strategy of cheap airlinies companies is to offer low prices (at the beginning), with less service. Then, they are trying to change the rules (e.g. to pay per baggage, no seat assigned, etc). Ultimately, they will INCREASE their fares to reach the normal or standar prices… The danger of this approach is that classic companies will have to play the game to avoid losing customers… and doing so, they will also reduce services and decrese the quality of services of the flights. Finally, the passengers will ending paying the same, but with less services. That is why I **** discount or low fares airline companies and their “brained” marketing people….

Yes, the cheaper they get the less they take care of the customer. I went on a plane ride over christmas from michigan to illinois, and they didn’t serve drinks. They are trying to cut corners to make the prices cheaper, but they just lose the values of good service. Money isn’t everything, and comfort is something that I would trade it for. Coach is starting to be a horrible experience.

Yes! Without these low-cost airlines who offer prices that are not much lower than those on the legacy carriers (JetBlue, ahem!), the big 5 (excluding US Air, which is a discount-turned-major airline) can offer better service by charging slightly higher fares. The discount carriers are causing many airlines to cut costs to stay in business and make up for lost revenue. I don’t fly low-cost carriers and always try to fly on American Airlines.

oh yeah … dats so true…. i would prefer paying a little more, and getting a comfy and clean seat, and some thing to eat on the flight.
also, seat assignment is really necessary…
Quality always wins…

you are just f****** nuts.
How can what Southwest does, effect United?!?!?!?
this is a free country and anyone can run their airline how ever they want……….
Did you know this??………..
Southwest airlines has shown a PROFIT for over20 YEARS IN A ROW……………….(look it up NYSE symbol “LUV”)
Why should I pay 200 for a flight that costs 100 ????
It goes the same place!!!!
Big expensive airlines **** because charge SOOO much, then always seem to be getting bailed out by the Govt!!!!!!
Why is quality sacrificed??
There HAS to (by law) be a certain sized crew for each flight based on the particular aircraft in use..
A Southwest 737 has the same crew requirements as a 737 being used byUnited ,Delta or anyone else.
it the rich bastards at the top of the company who are just making too much money at your expense.
get over it.
Piss on the so called “classic ” companies if thy can’t keep up.
I hope they all fail and you rich snotty creeps are forced to either drive your car or use Southwest,JetBlue,or Frontier for ever!!!
