Cheapest Flight available and No change of plans fees?
Kristen asked:
I am looking to buy some plane tickets and was wondering i you recommended any site or had any tips for me inorder to find the cheapest ticket available. We are AAA members will this help if I book through them, if so whats the details does it cost to have them plan it? Also I would like to find an airline, if possible, that doesn’t charge to much for a change in plans ( If I want to push back the trip for a reason other than the “Emergency”

There are no airlines that do not charge for changing your ticket if you buy the cheapest ticket available. What you will have to do is buy a ticket that allows for changes and then the changes will be free, but the ticket will be much more expensive. You will see this listed as “restricted” or “non restricted”. You would want the non restrticted if you want to be able to make changes.
I am a AAA member too and have never been able to find a good deal on airfare through them. My suggestion would be to start at and check multiple times every single day. When you find a cheap flight, book it immediately, as they are sometimes only available for a few hours. Kayak is not a site like expedia or orbitz – they do not charge a booking fee, they just direct you to the airline’s website and save you all the search time. Also, my experience has been that if you book direcly through the airline, any changes that might need to be made are made easier than if you have to go through orbitz or wherever. Good luck.

AAA will not help on discounted airfares
Change and/or cancellation charges are different depending on fare, route and airline.
ONLY if yoy pay a “full-fare” i.e.”Y” or similar there will be NO charges for cancellation.
BUT, most (key word most!) airfares to-day (discounted that is) are non-refundable and non-transferanble BUT, again BUT if you cancel BEFORE the FIRST LEG of the itinerary, you get a credit for future travel MINUS charges!
Please check:
Tips:
a- use flexible dates
b- use alternative airports
