Cheap Airline Flights - rates tickets price

learn about cheap airline flights

cheapest flights?

uncjillian asked:

What websites/airlines do you recommend for finding the cheapest flights online? I am trying to get a good deal from the Washington DC area to Charlotte NC in July.
Also- I am looking to travel 4th of July weekend. Is this just a dumb idea (pricewise)? And will prices only go up or should I wait and keep trying?

I begin with. Sidestep gives as many of the current fares from both the airlines and the online agencies.

If you find something that looks good, Sidestep sends you directly to that site. Southwest does not participate in any of the shopper sites but, then, SW does not fly from DCA to CLT.

Airtran is showing a $257 round trip in mid-July between your cities.

UPDATE: $224.50 rountrip on AIrTran, depart BWI 7/4 at 9:51 AM, NS. Return 7/7 8:00AM NS. Go directly to airtran.com and book $89 and $116 web only specials.

I’ve been traveling a lot lately out of D.C., and I always find priceline and sidestep to be the most helpful….Also, do an internet search for low-cost airlines that fly into Charlotte NC….Sometimes priceline and sidestep miss a few of the smaller airlines, or are at least a bit slower putting them up. If you go directly to those airlines’ websites they will usually have the lowest published fare that you can find online. I also find it helps to look up discount codes online or purchase a voucher on ebay. (I saved $15 off a one way flight on Airtran by purchasing a $25 voucher for $10….better than nothing!!)
