learn about cheap airline flights

Is there an airline that lets you stand bye for a flight?

Ben asked:

I’m very poor this Christmas and trying to get to Indiana from LA as cheap as possible. I plan on taking the Greyhound but would rather find a flight for cheap. Any suggestions

Most airlines will let you fly “stand by” but it is unlikely it will be less expensive. My advice is to hit the Internet sites for all the major airlines…or call them directly, and start asking for the prices for a stand by ticket.
    GOOD LUCK!:)

Yeah, you can stand by but it will be the most expensive ticket that they have. Hitch hiking is more cost-effective option.

You’d rather pay almost the same amount to drive to Indiana for 3 days rather than fly for a few hours?

If you WORK those other few days, you could pay for an airline ticket.

There is no free “stand by” for general public. One can’t just go to the airport and wait around to get on a flight for nothing. (Even if there was an empty seat on that flight). There are just a few days left until Christmas, unless you come up with the money now, I don’t think you’re going to fly all the way to Los Angeles for cheap.
