learn about cheap airline flights

What is the cheapest/best airline to travel?

Derek asked:

short flight from Nashville to Cleveland in June planned. I have never flown before. Would it be better to get a Hotel/Flight deal together? Any other tips would also be appreciated.

I love Southwest Airlines because they are almost always cheaper, the airline attendants know how to have fun, and they serve awesome honey roasted peanuts….plus if you sign up for their frequent flier miles you get tons of free drink coupons.

For a no-frills airline that is cheap try Northwest Airlines.

You cannot beat Southwest for the prices. Check some travel sites like Kayak and Booking Buddy for deals. Also, call the hotel directly, often they will give you the best deal and remember they are able to “deal.” Ask for specials, discounts for aarp, aaa, etc. or if they can meet those prices.

Vacation packages are heavily discounted. You can save up to $200 or more than booking separately. Try hotels.com, expedia.com.
