Cheap Airline Flights – rates tickets price

learn about cheap airline flights

Which Airline should I go with, Continental or United?

mikey1478 asked:

I’m traveling from Columbia, South Carolina to Calgary, Canada. Now with Continental I have to connect in Houston, and United I connect in Chicago. So obviously United is quicker and cheaper, but which airline would be best to go with? Does one often have delayed flights, which has better service, stuff like that…and of course safer. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the answers guys, was all very helpful and appreciated!

They both have a few delayed flights, but that is usually because they are making sure the plane is safe. Reliablility records are pretty similar. If you have layovers make sure they are more than 30 min. so you have some time, in case flights are delayed, to get to the next gate. I have had good luck using SpinCityTravel.com. They have a lot of flights available and they always show the total price with tax so you’re not suprised when you book the flight. Also the prices have been lower, on occasion, than booking with the actual airline.

As far as airlines go, Continental has a slightly better reputation. That being said, the onboard experience isn’t different enough to trump price and convenience if those are your considerations. If United is faster and cheaper, I’d pick United.

They are very similar. Continental might offer you a larger aircraft, as some of the chicago-calgary flights use regional jets. That being said, i think the much shorter flight is worth the smaller plane. Go with United via. Chicago. Both airlines are so-so, so pick the faster one!

Continental has more friendly Texans working for them, United has more grumpy Yankees. Plus, CO still gives you something to eat at mealtimes (last I had was a passable cheeseburger & Twix bar).

Remember also, Chicago has weather just about any time of year….thunderstorms in summer, snow in winter…and your “quicker” flight might end up not being so, if you miss your connection!

DO NOT FLY UNITED!!!! Continental is the best US airline by far and United is the worst by a LOT. Continental has the best customer service and United has the worst. It doesn’t even compare. Both airlines are safe but United is more likely to cancel or delay flights. Continental is so much better. The airport in Houston is also far better than Chicago.
