Shanghai->Hong-Kong: Which airline would be the cheapest?
CollegeKid asked:
I would like to travel at the end of August, this year from Shanghai to Hong-Kong.
Which airline should I choose? My preference is strictly concerning financials, thus I am looking for the cheapest flight.
What do you think, how much would that cost?

If you suggest an airline, could you please direct me to an English speaking booking page as well?
Thanks a bunch!

you could always fly to Shenzhen for a lot cheaper and cross the border any number of ways,, I just did this a month ago and it was much cheaper than flying directly into HK

Definately, flying to Shenzhen and going to hk via train is the cheapest way to travel. Shanghai to HK is considered an international flight. You should check with 9588.com or net not sure and view thier prices. Ctrip is ok but it is easier with or e long. Both of these companies speak english and will accept Major UScredit cards or oyu can pay cash when oyu pick up the ticket. It will cost roughly 120y for taxi from airport to t rain station. Can also get the train from Guangzhou, Check out your alternatives.

Here are some pages that are really excellent and also in English. There are really no discount airlines but you can always get the best prices thru the web sites. I don’t believe travel agents can beat those prices.

yes, arriving at shenzhen would be a better option.
from the shenzhen airport, there are direct shuttle buses or limo services that take you cross border to Hong Kong.
for the limo services, you do not even have to get out of the car to pass customs and immigration, you can show your documents directly to the official at the order in a booth.
the cost to go to hk airport from sz airport would only be $20 – $50 USD depeding on bus or limo.
a flight from shanghai to shenzhen would be approx. $125 USD – $150 cheaper than a flight from shanghai to Hong Kong.
i think just the hk airport tax is as much as that. chinese airport is cheaper

I often fly Shanghai to Hong Kong and China Eastern is usually the option that will allow you to change flight times if necessary. Try booking through Ctrip.com You’ll probably have to book by phone with them for an international flight, but there English service is fine. Last time I flew, it was around 110 USD one way.
