there is no flight from s’pore to oakland. you have to fly to sf then either take a domestic to oakland or since there are so many of you, charter a bus to ferry all of you to oakland. oakland is across the bay from sf.
the cheapest fare should come from the american airlines like United Airlines and Northwest. they have stopovers in either japan, korea, etc.
check out the various online fare websites like orbitz.com or google ‘cheap airfares’. for group rates i agree with earlier answerer, to check w local travel agent for best rates.
